Jesse Queen is a brand that is very personal for me. Growing up, and still often today, there are many times when I feel as though I have to choose between keeping up with current trends, or wearing clothes simply because they appeal to my body type. I hate feeling as if I have to sacrifice being fashionable in order to live within the boundaries of the mundane “World of Tall Girl Clothing.” Most of the time, I avoid shopping in malls because the stores don’t carry anything proportionally appropriate.
I’m sure most of you are very familiar with this, though. You’ve gravitated towards Jesse Queen because you know what it’s like to have to go to 3 or 4 stores just to find flattering denim with your inseam, or you’ve made the mistake of getting a dress that is knee-length on an average-sized woman, but on you fits like an oversized tank!
Jesse Queen brings life to the perception of height as an asset, rather than a burden. With this in mind, I am building this multi-faceted line with edgy, youthful and vibrant styles for tall women. I accent each piece with an unconventional flare, whether it be an unexpected angle, zipper or color. LILY is my most recent design, created with our community of above average women in mind. It is a sleek, classic piece with a light silhouette, accentuating the feminine curves and leg lines.
When I wear LILY, I feel sexy and powerful. It is a lovely statement piece that fits perfectly in my wardrobe and works well with any trend—notably a strappy heel and choker. You can dress her up easily, or dress her down with a denim jacket and sneakers, depending on your preference. Regardless of where you go, you’ll be prepared; LILY is a showstopper!
This piece is just one of the items I hope will facilitate a strong sense of confidence in tall women. Beyond the individual, I hope that Jesse Queen will contribute to the development of a thriving community of tall women who empower and uplift one another. Our stature adds to what makes us each unique, and I’m hopeful that in engaging in Queen’s Corner, you will all grow to feel at home with each other and in your own skin.
With that said, be sure to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to contribute to Queen’s Corner. I want to hear from you—from confidence secrets to style influences to anything else that empowers you as an above average woman. Include your 50-100 word pitch in the body of your e-mail with the headline “Queen’s Corner Submission” and I’ll follow up with more information.
That’s all for now, ladies! You’ll hear from me whenever I have a new design to share with you all. Until next time, #StandTallQueens.
